Science fair experiment day... Julia is investigating what absorbs oil the best. She became interested in the Gulf oil spill and the effects on wildlife so she wanted to know if make-up sponges, cleaning sponges, cotton pads, or kitty litter would work the best.... it was cleaning sponges!
More snow... Julia needed a playmate so Casey was elected.
Starting to put the Science fair board together...
Just a sample of our icicles that we have been growing...
Our friend, Michelle, is on bedrest until she delivers her baby so we went to her house with lunch and visited. Had a great time! Hoping that we can do it again without an excuse!
Friday 1/28 - Day 28
Science fair board is ready... leaving today to go see Melissa! It is sibling weekend so Julia and Brian are ready to go!
Saturday 1/29 - Day 29
While the kids are with Melissa, Rick and I decided to go to the museum to see the exhibit Bodies Revealed... It was very interesting and we enjoyed the time out. Last night we went to Bonefish for dinner and had adult conversation! In the afternoon, the kids went to our hotel to swim and then we all went out for dinner at a new place (for us) called Brann's steakhouse. It was quite good and we all had fun!

oh I don't miss those science fair days...but that looks like a great experiment!
ReplyDeletewhat fun...siblings weekend! I have never heard of that!
Have a great week!
Science fair time, shall I ask if this is fun or too much of a chore. I never had the priviledge growing up and my kids' school doesn't do it either. I think I'm missing out, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI like your icicles :)
Julia's project turned out great!! Nice work!!
ReplyDeleteWe have some of those icicles too. :)
Glad you had a good weekend with Melissa. That exhibit looks right up your alley!
Have a great week!!
Those icicles look scary - yikes! I'm glad Julia found a willing playmate :) I'm fascinated by her experiment - we never did stuff like that in school either. I wonder if I would have been excited or stressed?
ReplyDeleteI used to love science fair day when I was a kid. Sounds like a really interesting experiment done there too.
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one with so much snow!
It's science fair project time here too...although I have NO idea what my 5th grader is doing...hubby and him have come up with a plan and telling mom nothing!! lol Sounds like a great experiment!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others, I'm glad that the science fair days are behind me!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week,
Mimi
